Team
National Hope is proud to continue to support great organizations like the Boys
and Girls Clubs of Broward County www.bgcbc.org
and their efforts. Due to COVID-19, the clubs were forced to shut down in March
and reopen with new standards in June. They knew these changes would impact the
community greatly, so they quickly worked to find ways to best serve the
community during this unique time.
Matt
Organ Co-CEO shared with TN Hope recently, “Although our clubs were physically
closed, we still served our members and their families as best we could.
Our dedicated staff worked hard to ensure the needs of our members and
their families were being met. BGCBC began serving Grab-and-Go snacks and
meals to our families, as well as virtual programming so our members could
continue to receive support.
As
soon as we were allowed to open our doors again, our staff sprang into action
to make sure we could be there for our families and the community. On June 22,
the clubs re-opened to welcome kids back into the building and began providing
the critical programs and services our members needed. Even though we could not
serve the same number of kids that we normally would have due to CDC
restrictions, we still wanted to make sure we could be there for those that
needed us most.
Now,
with many parents across the community concerned about how they’ll juggle
working and not being able to leave their children at home alone, or helping
their children who are learning from home in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward
County are stepping in to help with snacks, supervision, and mentorship.
We
know that the kids, parents and community need us, now more than ever, and it
is our job to do whatever it takes to continue shaping their futures. We
are grateful to our dedicated staff who always find ways to serve our kids and
for their leadership to do whatever it takes. On behalf of the staff, children and families we serve, thank you
for all the love and support that you provide every day so that we can continue
the critical work we do for our community.”
Angela
Chrysler shared on behalf of TN Hope, “I’m grateful for the many donations in
2020 that have allowed us to support BGCBC and the amazing work they do to make
a difference in our community. Thank you friends, you are awesome!”
